Kevin studied photography at CalArts, and has a way of capturing naturalistic and evocative images that resonate deeply with the viewer. From smaller intimate shoots to large budget productions and campaigns. The way he works with models and subjects make his pictures feel alive. This comes from his intimate relationship with photography. He developed an emotional connection to film as a young child when his maternal grandmother showed him old photographs of her time in Italy during and before WWII. She was a holocaust survivor and took part in an insurrection act that killed 33 Nazis and injured 170 more. She would tell him stories and the pictures seemed to bring them to life. And his father is a black man from the American South. The surviving photos of his enslaved ancestors who had to fight for their freedom showed Kevin what life was like for them before the Civil War. These badass revolutionaries are the inspiration for his photography, and he aims to create unique images that make the viewer look at the world from a new perspective.
